Those frequent guests of The Capri Show World Center, all two or three of you, might have noticed a lack new content over the last several weeks. OK, so we’re not exactly known for a full-throttle wide-open fire hose velocity of new content, but for once there is a somewhat reasonable excuse for not posting anything new in the last three-ish weeks: Uncle Spicy has been working on other things!
Yep, Spicy does have one or two other outlets for his smutological endeavors, and in this case it was the recording of Spicy’s first honest to Scrod film commentary. We can’t yet reveal which film, trade secrets and government conspiracy type stuff preclude us from that just at the moment. But we can say it’s a film by a well known, although not well regarded directory, and the film itself was thought lost for several decades until an enterprising author uncovered a copy while writing a book on said filmmaker in the early 1990s. And let’s be clear: this film is NOT a masterpiece in any sense of the word. But researching it and preparing for the commentary was an adventure in itself, one which thrust Uncle Spicy at the feet of two actresses who appeared in the film, both of which turned his pleas for an interview down (“How did you get my contact information!”), which Uncle Spicy will of course respect. For what it’s worth we also found a third actress and in the process uncovered the entire history of this icon of early adult films, but we are not prepared to go into that in any further detail either (we haven’t attempted to contact her yet…).
There’s actually a second commentary that Uncle Spicy is on the hook to record ASAP-post-haste-last-week, but which due to his procrastination was able to actually round out some of the missing bits just in the last 48 hours. So hopefully Spicy will get that one in the can in the next few days as well. But like the first film we’re not yet at liberty to divulge what film that is either.
To be clear, the two films could not be further from each other in almost every way: one has been mistakenly considered an incomplete film, the other is a fully fleshed out opus; one has some of the biggest names in early adult films, the other has pretty much no known actors/actresses; one was filmed entirely within one dilapidated old house, the other makes the entire city of Los Angeles a character (and Uncle Spicy will be walking you through almost every location!). But each one had it’s own story to tell, one on the screen, the other off the screen, and Uncle Spicy enjoyed every minute of both.
And for those one or two of you that aren’t wearing roller skates or have straws up your noses we’ve spread a few clues as to what the two films are around this modest post. If you figure out either film send Uncle Spicy a quick note, and if you’re correct you’ll get one free soft-drink coupon for the Capri Show World Center Food Counter!
