We lost Kay Parker today (October 14, 2022), and I thought a segment of one of the interviews of her we have on the Capri Show World YouTube Channel from 1984 was appropriate to highlight. In it she’s asked what would she wants to be remembered for:
“I want to be remembered for having always been willing to share my heart with people, no matter what the situation I find myself in, and I find myself in some pretty shaky situations sometimes. The world of pornography, or as I refer to it Adult Films, is an area that’s judged really harshly by a lot of people, and I see that there are a lot of people who judge it. And I was one of them back then, so I know where that comes from. I really want to be able to appeal to some of those people and say, hey, I’m a human being, I’m just a person just like you, and I just seem to have happened to have fallen in to this little niche, and I can still be a real good person and express from my heart and do all that good stuff and be happy, and have successful relationships and all that stuff, you know? It’s the holding back that really ties people up, and I was there, so I really empathize…I love people, I love people period. And that’s my life, if I can’t share it with people what’s worth living about?”
Rest in peace, Ms Parker

UPDATE
I’d posted the above pretty much verbatim on an Adult Film Facebook group Friday morning, and tons of people, fans and people who had known and worked with Ms Parker alike, “Liked”, “Loved”, and posted memories of her. One in particular is worth reprinting here, from pioneer Adult Film director and producer Bob Chinn:
“Kay was indeed a class act. She was in three of my films: “Sweet Young Foxes”, “The Young Like it Hot” and “Nice ‘N Tight”. I enjoyed working with her. She was always very considerate toward the less experienced cast members. I’ll always remember that she once took me aside and said ‘I consider it an honor to work for you because I so admire your sensitivity and special heart.’ Well, I consider it a great honor to have been able to work with her. “
